How We Got Here, Where We’re Going
Two years ago, our founder got a message from her closest friend: her cat, Nowa, had passed suddenly.
She wanted a tattoo to keep Nowa close, but standing at the studio door, she hesitated—she wasn’t ready for “forever.”
We traced Nowa’s simplest shapes—the gentle ear curve, the tiny paw—and turned them into a semi-permanent tattoo: something you can wear, replace, and still hold meaning. The first time she placed it on her wrist—on the subway, flipping a light switch—it felt like Nowa was quietly purring nearby. That’s when we understood:
remembrance and freedom can coexist
That moment became NOWASHE—a name born from NOWA + SHE:
for Nowa, for her, and for anyone who wants to express themselves (no gender required). We’re here to make “wearable remembrance” accessible—gentle, flexible, and true—so expression isn’t limited by cost or permanence.
